The Nike Air Max Plus is a silhouette created by designer Sean McDowell and launched by the Swoosh brand in 1998. It is better known by its nickname "TN", an acronym for the Tuned Air technology it introduced, and by its French nickname "requin".
The Air Max Plus has a special history in France, where it was adopted by the street for its aggressive design, and became a social phenomenon in the early 2000s under the impetus of rap music.
Labelled as a "scum shoe" at the time, the Air Max Plus has moved beyond this negative image in recent years and is now worn by a wide range of people.
